Grande Mercado!

We ventured out to the famous Cochabamba market today. And ohmygod was it GRANDE!

The set up is like a flea market, people have their booths set up... similar to the Chinese night market, for those of you who have been to one. But WAAAAY more people, WAAAAY more booths...VERY cramped! And it was endless! Just street after street of cramped booths, with people selling freshly squeezed orange juice and ice cream in the super narrow paths.

In the market, you can find ANYTHING, from underwear to suitcases to carrots. It was amazing. And they are usually on sale for about the same price as you`d find stuff in Canada, except its in Bolivianos. One boliviano is roughly $8 US. So you`ll see a suitcase.... in canada, you can probably get one for about $150 Canadian. Here, its also about 150, but 150 Bolivianos, which is like $18.75 USD.... which is about $25 Canadian.

So everything is super cheap here, and Tiana and I are afraid that once we go back to Canada, we won`t be able to buy anything because it will feel so expensive!

We were in the market for about 2 hours, but we were so exhausted after. I went home and took a 2 hour nap! Those markets take a lot out of ya! And its so easy to get lost in it....cuz there aren`t marked streets or anything.

But definately worth going to! Hopefully by the end of our stay here, we`ll be able to navigate our way around the market perfectly!
